So I talk a lot....

at crops, well really I talk a lot all the time, but especially at crops. I can't help it, apparently I have a lot to say, lol! I think that is one of the major reasons that I got hooked on scrapbooking. I love telling stories, funny tid bits of my life and making others laugh. It just makes the day go better when you can share a laugh and a little bit about yourself.
So the crop that I attended today was from 9AM-9PM. I really didn't get that much done compared to others but I did get quite a few things started or finished. It was cold and humid, (weird combo), and I started getting frustrated with my photos and paper warping. So around 8PM I think I gave up and started packing. I really want to do this at least once a month. Even though I didn't cross a ton off of my to do list and I technically have more things to do at home since I lost a whole day to scrapbooking...I always FEEL SO MUCH BETTER after spending time with good friends, paper and glue! So thanks honey for watching our gremlin today, I needed the break.

I had started this LO last week and have been dying to finish it. I was really proud of how many of my little brads I used on this page. I tend to hoard supplies just in case there was ever a brad crisis, (you never know). So thanks for stopping by and wish me luck as I get my turn to be "man on man" with Colin tomorrow.
Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzil. Pattern Paper: GCD Studios, October Afternoon. Chipboard: Colorbok. Letters: American Crafts, Making Memories. Accent: American Crafts. Rub On: Cosmo Cricket

So I'm packing!

I am very lucky and have the ability to attend a scrapbooking crop tomorrow for 12 hours. I'm packing, planning and doing more packing. It's about 45 mins away so whatever I don't bring I will have to do without! I'm hoping to get some pages done but most importantly relax and laugh with other women who get this whole scrapbook thing! I can't wait.

"So I'm still 4 today, right?"

This is how Colin has woken up each day this week. After he tells me that he is still sleepy and wonders if I am SURE that it's light outside.
So my little man turned 4 on Monday and we had a weekend of celebrating.

I made two of these, one for us and one for school. I was glad to check these off of my to do list since it was kind of annoying to tint 8 colors of frosting. But totally worth it since that has been the only thing he's been able to talk about.

It's hard to believe that four years ago I took this peanut home. We spent a year trying to get pregnant, worried the entire time that I would have a huge monkey baby, started insulin in my last month, was induced at 39 weeks, labored for 13 hours and pushed for 24 minutes, went through drama when you didn't eat right away and they wanted to supplement you with formula, had trouble breathing after being feed said formula, learned to latch just fine after that, slept a lot, was pretty orange for a few days, and brought more joy and drama to our life than we can ever count. Sometimes it seems like it was just yesterday and other days it seems like an entire lifetime ago! Maybe one of these days I will go back and scrap his baby photos. I doubt it but a girl can dream!

I'm pretty sure I checked my email....

985 times this week. I have no idea why, well yes I do. I was hoping to get a call for the August issue of Scrapbook Trends. I tend to have way better summer photos than I do fall or winter so I was hoping that the combination of better photos and numerous LO's submitted would up my chances. Thankfully I did get one LO picked up for that issue so at least I don't feel like I completely wasted the 985 clicks of the mouse. I'm working on patience. :-)

So it's been a bust week as usual but I had a nice getaway last weekend. Matt and I spent the night in Baltimore to get away and spend some couple time together. It was nice to reconnect and enjoy a dinner out for a change. We took photos but they all stink. It was the first time I handed my new camera to a stranger, (well not strangers, people who were working and really wouldn't be able to go to far to try and book it with my camera). You would have thought that I handed them a ton of bricks. We got comments on how heavy it is and that they were really surprised that you needed to look through the viewfinder. Better luck next time. Maybe we will get lucky and my mother in law can take photos of us this weekend and I can just pretend that we are in Baltimore?

Anyway, I have been working on one of Colin's Birthday Cakes. He wants Lighting McQueen so I am doing the best I can with fake ingredients and my Kitchen Aide Mixer. I will tint the frosting tomorrow and finish decorating it. We are having a special lunch for Colin and a party at school on Monday. I'm impressed that I didn't drive myself nuts with crazy details and an over the top shindig. (I almost made fondant from scratch...I'm working on drawing the line somewhere).
I'll share photos soon but for now here's a recent LO that I completed as I work on Disney photos. I used my fabric rip strips from Studio Calico. I really think that these are the best things that have ever been invented. Thanks for stopping by, blog ya later!

A New Favorite

Another product of my scrapping session last weekend. Hopefully I'll get a little time tonight to work on a few things. It's been a crazy busy week and I am certainly looking forward to the weekend. Who knows...maybe even some rest and relaxation. One can only hope.
I've been really wishing for warmer weather lately. I can't wait to get outside, smell the spring air and not have to worry about wearing a jacket. Hopefully it's sooner rather than later.

I spent a few hours on Saturday at Times to Remember in Hershey. I called ahead and they had room to crop and I decided I needed to get out for a bit. So I packed a few things and drove the 40 minutes to get there. I am so glad I did. The crop room was almost empty and removed from the hustle and bustle of the shoppers. I got a ton done and had some quiet mommy time. I am going to try to make an effort to do this at least once a month. I think the difference with this was that I didn't go with anyone else so I wasn't tempted to chat instead of scrap. I'm hoping to update my gallery soon but here's at least one for now!

Quick Share!

Just wanted to share a page I finished today right after my shipment from Studio Calico came to my door. I LOVE that I could order pieces from the kit without getting the entire kit. I unfortunately stopped my subscription to Scarlet Lime since I am beginning to get a bit overwhelmed with the whole kit thing. I am a nut about using everything that I have and I just can't use them fast enough sometimes. So I was thrilled that I could order just four sheets of paper, fabric strips, (oh my gosh these are the coolest things ever), and two stamps. That's plenty for me and with any luck I will get to play with them tonight. Here's hoping!

Look at this cutie!

With that smile, I almost don't care that I didn't get most of my stuff done yesterday. I did manage to play race cars, super heroes, some laundry, make lunch and watch TV. Even though I'm tired and I am not too sure how I'm going to get everything done, I'm glad I had the snow day to spend with my little buddy.

So there went my work at home day...

I'm trying to salvage it as best I can. I typically work 9 days every two weeks and on the 10th day I try to catch up on everything that I didn't get a chance to do over the last two weeks. Well, I thought I would be ahead of the game by going to the grocery store yesterday so I would have to do it today, (you know then I might get to scrap). I took Colin to the Tree House at Giant while I shopped. It was jammed due to the impending storm and we needed a ton of stuff. I don't know what Colin was playing but he fell asleep on the way home. AT 7:00PM! This from the kid who never sleeps. I unload the mountains of groceries while he takes a cat nap. I then proceed to poke him, shake him, drop things around him....he wouldn't budge. He didn't wake up until he had an accident on the couch at 10:00PM. *sigh*
If you come to visit...I would sit on the love seat. I'm just saying.

He then didn't go back to sleep till 5AM. *double sigh* So when I saw that it was a blizzard outside at 9AM, I'll be honest, I did think about how long it would take me to shovel the drive way and still take him to school. Although I realized all of the trouble of waking a cranky toddler and shoveling snow wasn't worth it.

So I have a helper today, he promised to "let me work." I'm setting a goal of one load of laundry. Hopefully I'll meet it, lol!

Here's a LO from 2008's Disney vacation. Colin's first rootbeer float. the ice cream parlor on Main Street has Rice Dream ice cream for Colin. It may not seem like much to everyone else, but the fact that the whole family can go for ice cream without me having a cooler of dry ice with me...well that's priceless.
