Taking a break....

I had been gone for a few days, some were out of town and some were catching up on some much needed sleep. I have had tons of projects I've been working on and it was nice to just relax a little. I did manage to complete a few layouts though. Here's a layout about my little guy and his love of fast bikes. Enjoy!

Let's talk about Lent....

I don't think that I mentioned that I gave up scrapbook supply shopping for Lent. This has been extremely rough and there has been many a time while working on a Layout and I've thought...."I'll have to go to the store tomorrow and pick xyz thing up." This has definetly been a tough thing to give up for a few weeks. Matt is concerned that with all of the withdrawl that I will go crazy after Easter.
I think I will travel to my favorite store and spend the points that my Mom and Sam so graciously added to my account with their recent purchase. I'm so excited. For my birthday they got me the Crop in Style XXL Black and Cream bag. I'm going to my first crop on March 1st and they surprised me with the early gift. The bonus was that since they said it was a gift the LSS added the purchase to my points! How cool. So I patiently wait till Easter is over while everyone is talking about all of the newly released products. Maybe I'll get lucky and my birthday gifts will include scrapbook supplies. That should take the edge off. Here's a new layout about my little guy. Enjoy!

I feel so much better....

Trying to figure out how to post decent pictures of my layouts has driven me nuts for the last few days. I'm so glad I figured out a decent option until I can decide what I want to do about buying a scanner. Since I had some great lighting this afternoon I took pictures of the layouts that I may want to share. A girl has to do something while the plumber takes my toliet apart to go fishing for toddler toys. Just when I was starting to get comfortable with Colin having some "alone time." Poor thing, everytime the toliet flushes he gets a little sad about how he lost his toy. It's very cute. The funniest part about this whole thing is that I really have to fight the urge to go upstairs and take a photo so I could scrapbook this. If I thought the plumber wouldn't notice and think I was completly crazy I may have considered it. Instead I will update my blog, balance my checkbook and start my taxes. All of those things should keep my mind off of making an idiot of myself. Here's another layout to enjoy.

Baking and Scrapbooking

So we made chocolate cupcakes with homemade peanut butter icing. Yummy. I finally figured out the "trick" to making allergy cupcakes thanks to watching Divvies on the Martha Stewart Show. Take the cupcakes out of the pan immediately after checking that they are done and place them on a wire rack. This way all of the extra water will evaporate and not just stick to the bottom of the pan. There's not many left so I think they were a hit.

I got a few post HOF entry layouts completed. It was so nice just doing whatever I wanted and not being so focused on design or being innovative. Just pure fun.

Now I'm really done!

I finished it! My HOF entry has been submitted and now I just wait. I decided to have a local scrapbook store scan my layouts and then I submitted electronically. This still gave me great quality copies but at about 1/2 the price since I didn't have to pay for printing or shipping. It's interesting...as I checked out the scans it was hard to believe that I completed the layouts! I'm really happy with my entry....now we just have to see if it is what Creating Keepsakes is looking for. Only time will tell.

Anyone know the inside scoop on the Low Fat Rasberry Tastycakes? i don't know what it is about them. I forgot they even exsisted for a few years and then my hubby brought a few boxes home. Let's just say that I remember them now. Here's the thing...they aren't in every grocery store? I think Weis carries them but that's the only place I have seen them. I think I will be stopping there tomorrow. They are literally the most perfect snack. Man I wish I had one right now.

We are having the strangest weather locally. It was tee shirt weather today. I asked Colin what he thought of the weather and he said "summer day." Too cute. I only took this photo a few days ago. Go figure.

I'm Done! I'm Done!

I have all of my layouts completed and I am so happy with them! Now I will spend tomorrow researching the best prices on prints. Wish me luck...I'm going to need it. Thanks to all who have been supportive. Hopefully this is the start of something big. Now on to the next project. Design Team.

I'm in the home stretch!

Colin got his first big kid haircut this weekend. We went to a cool salon where he could sit in a jeep. They took so much off but he was in desperate need of some assitance in the hair department. It looks a lot better. He really did an awesome job and looks even more grown up. Where did the time go?

So I have pretty much finished my HOF entry but now have the dilema of how to send it? I don't have a scanner yet so I would need to either scan them somewhere locally, about $6 a page or take photographs to either submit electronically or try to print out somewhere else cheaper. I hear that Costco is good and cheap. There is one about 30 mins from me....I wonder if they allow you a trial day??? I'm sure I will make a decision one way or the other. It's only due on Monday....I have plenty of time. Thank God for Fed Ex.

Adjusting to Blog Life

Another late night...well morning...but I wanted to post before heading to bed. The HOF update is that I have one more layout to complete as well as my crafty combo. I have the idea but need to purchase a few items. My goal is to send everything out on Monday. I think the hardest part will be waiting to find out if I will "get a call," or not. I really am not sure what my chances are but either way, I'm really glad I pushed myself to complete my entry. There were a few times I thought about just entering next year but I've already come this far I just need to move towards the finish line.

I am also getting the hang of organizing my digital images and playing with items on my blog. I really enjoy having the playlist up while I'm scrapping. It's nice to have favorite songs that just seem to make me more productive. This is a photo of my work in progress scraproom. I still need to paint doors, touch up drawers and install shelving but at least the space is usable. I love it so much it's hard to think that I will have the ability to love it even more once it is completed. Well I'm off to get some rest...with visions of layouts dancing in my head.
