Is there anything else left to eat?

I can tentatively say yes. We got test results the other day that indicated that he came up positive to Wheat and Barley. *sigh* It was one of those things that I thought maybe but never really allowed myself to get too caught up in the idea, I mean, how can I cook without wheat???? We pulled it out of his diet two days ago and so far he has tried everything that I offered him, he's such a good kid. I went shopping, did some research online, (thank you internet), and purchased a few items that Colin actually thanked me for making. Who knows, even if it helps a little it's worth it. For the most part he is pretty healthy but we still have the occasional week long bought of infection/stomach upset/vomiting that we can't really explain. And I don't know why but it's just different that having a cold or flu. It always starts the same way, he starts scratching his fingers and his scalp. Sometimes that's as far as it goes and sometimes we get everything else and hives. *sigh* We will give it a try. SO our official list of foods that we are avoiding are as follows....Milk, Eggs, Soy, Lemon, Turkey, Beef, Fish, Nuts, Wheat, Oats, Barley.

Wish us luck! We are going to need it!

Oh my gosh! I am so sorry! I know a lot of people who are Celiac (allergic to wheat) and it seemed daunting at first but they seem to be managing now. You sure do have a big list there though! Im sure you will make it work though - hang in there! Better to know and be able to work on it right?

Oh man! Good luck...my girls each have a long list of (different) food allergies and it can get very difficult. Do you have a whole foods or Trader Joe's? They often have really good options for people who are allergic to common things like your son is.

wow, that's tough. Good luck with it though and I hope he's allergy free someday!

Oh wow, that's got to be so tough. That's a lot to learn about and keep away from him. :(

Hey Kris, I've got my own little Allergy Boy! So don't worry. My son's first few years were wheat free and it's not that bad. (he can eat wheat now.) We used spelt flour and spelt noodles, also Quinoa noodles. Get a bread machine and make homemade bread. My DS has peanut, milk/dairy, wheat and egg allergies. Also, dogs & cats. He's 9 now, and it gets easier, and he did outgrow the wheat, and can tolerate eggs & milk in baked goods. No peanuts, tho, that's a lifelong allergy. You get used to it. And, don't be afraid to tell people and ask tons of questions when eating out. I've made a waitress go into the back, bring out the box so I could read what was in the chicken nuggets. I didn't care. Good luck to ya! And, see ya at the next crop! I had fun!!
