At the very last minute....

I decided to submit my entry for the Scrapbooker of the Year Contest. I had gone back and forth about this contest for awhile. It is so much work and I thought maybe I would focus my energy on other projects. Well I just had this nagging feeling and I couldn't shake it. So ultimately I finished up my entry and overnighted it on Wednesday afternoon 4:17pm to be exact. It was due on Thursday by 5pm. Needless to say, I was cutting it close. I'm glad I completed it, I'm happy with my layouts and my article, and at the very least I have some additional experience getting my materials together for submission. However, there were a few causalities. I broke a cuttlebug sandwich plate, threw away some embellishments that I had adhered and didn't work, and caused my room to look like a bomb exploded. It wasn't pretty. But it's done. Now I wait. Here are a few pics of the disaster area that was my scrapbook room. I have since cleaned up the mess and reorganized. Wish me luck, I'm going to need it.

Hair today...gone tomorrow!

Well I did it, I shaved my son's head. After daily struggles at bath time to wash it and in the mornings to brush it, I decided that it wasn't worth it. I keep hoping that this grand head of curls will appear in Colin's ever so slowly growing mane. It's not happening, at least anytime soon. Colin's hair really didn't start growing until about 2 1/2. Till then it was mostly peach fuzz. He still has a few spots that haven't filled in, hence the close shave. Oh well, it will grow back and hopefully this time we will be able to do something with it. Maybe some spikes in the front.
This photo was from last night's Open House show at Colin's daycare. It was so cute, all the kids sang songs as a large group as well as in their small classrooms. Of course my kid is the one that is perplexed because he couldn't find me in the audience and once he did he VERY loudly said hi to me. He is lucky he is cute. He then proceeded to sing his songs very content that I was watching him.
I hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend! Sorry that I haven't posted any layouts,I still haven't decided if I'm going to enter SOY this year or not. I need 12 never before seen layouts so anything I create right now has been going towards that project. There's only a few days left but I have time. Wish me luck!

Thank You!

I just wanted to thank everyone for their kind words and thoughts over the last couple of weeks. This has definitely been a transition for our family and especially my son. Thank you for helping me keep this in perspective as well as all of the resources that were provided to me as well.

On a different note, anyone know what they want to be when they grow up? Me neither. I have been spending a lot of time thinking about this, I'm kind of hoping that I'll get a letter in the mail saying, this is what you need to do and you start on Monday. Wouldn't that be nice?! Anyway I've been MIA for a little bit and *gasp* I haven't scrapbooked since I attended the CKMB crop. I did get my room back in order and reorganized. I made a really cute inspiration journal, no one was super impressed. Everyone that I have shown it to, non scrappers, thought it was pretty weird but I like it. Once complete I will post pictures and share them with you, those that will understand and appreciate it, lol!

Is there anything else left to eat?

I can tentatively say yes. We got test results the other day that indicated that he came up positive to Wheat and Barley. *sigh* It was one of those things that I thought maybe but never really allowed myself to get too caught up in the idea, I mean, how can I cook without wheat???? We pulled it out of his diet two days ago and so far he has tried everything that I offered him, he's such a good kid. I went shopping, did some research online, (thank you internet), and purchased a few items that Colin actually thanked me for making. Who knows, even if it helps a little it's worth it. For the most part he is pretty healthy but we still have the occasional week long bought of infection/stomach upset/vomiting that we can't really explain. And I don't know why but it's just different that having a cold or flu. It always starts the same way, he starts scratching his fingers and his scalp. Sometimes that's as far as it goes and sometimes we get everything else and hives. *sigh* We will give it a try. SO our official list of foods that we are avoiding are as follows....Milk, Eggs, Soy, Lemon, Turkey, Beef, Fish, Nuts, Wheat, Oats, Barley.

Wish us luck! We are going to need it!

Happy National Scrapbook Day!

Do you know that my husband didn't wish me a Happy Scrapbook Day today??? I guess I really can't complain though since he took Colin to Hershey today while I was at an all day crop. It was so nice to have a little break but also know that Colin was having a great time. Matt said that Colin didn't even ask about me today, that makes me a little sad but that means that he had a blast. I'd much rather hear that than he was missing me all day. Boy did I miss him though.

So I made my first trip today to the Flower and Craft Warehouse for our CKMB crop. I had such a good time. It was so funny to meet everyone in "real life." We all joked about our scrapbook stalker tendencies and our schedules for Valley Forge. So now if I can just remember everyone's names I'll be set. I have enough trouble remembering names let alone a real name and a message board name, lol!

Well here's some of the work that I got completed today. I was the last cropper to put my stuff away but I was determined to make a dent in my albums today. Thanks for checking them out and I hope everyone had a marvelous day!

Where has the time gone?

I can't believe that it is May already? I am so ready for summer and all it has to offer so I guess I'm okay with time going by so fast. I'm getting ready to pack for the CKMBers Crop on Saturday. I am really going to plan what pages I am working on and I am going to try, (try) to keep chatting to a minimum. That will be tough for me. I can't forget to bring the scraps that Colin threw on the floor today. They actually work in the combination that he threw them, something that I may not have thought of without them falling on top of each other. Who knew Colin had such an eye for color???
Here's a LO that I did with Colin and his cousin Anna. He wasn't really sure why she was so excited to see him but he went with it. Enjoy!
