All this for $1....

I purchased this 2009 calendar at Borders on clearance. It makes me want to buy every book in the series because it is so funny.

It is filled with gems like these...Christy didn't want to appear ungrateful, but there was only so much enthusiasm she could work up for another onesie, soft blanket, or Mustela bath set. If she didn't stumble on a pair of earrings or a spa certificate soon, she felt sure she would start to cry.

And my favorite...Baby Uggs: $85.00. Bugaboo stroller: $800.00. Knowing your child is better looking than your best friend's kid: Priceless.

This put a smile on my face before heading to bed. So thank you Sloane Tanen for writing such a genius take on pregnancy and motherhood. Seriously, I think my sense of humor and superb knack for sarcasm is what keeps me going on most days. Thank God!

Halloween Anyone?

I don't know how I feel about cards? It's nice to just make one for no reason and too stressful to create one when I actually need it. But if I make them with no intent to do anything with them...where do I put them? See, these are the things that I think about when I should be sleeping, lol.

Cupcake Pops

I made these for Colin's Valentine's Party on Friday. The white ones are Colin's and the brown were for the rest of the class. I got this idea from my new favorite website Bakerella.
When I saw these I knew I needed to make an allergy free version.
I used my Wacky Cake recipe for the cake, safe frosting, dairy free white chocolate chips for Colin and regular melting chips for everyone else. Colin was so excited to share them with the class. When he got to school he yelled, "hey guys, guess what my Mom made!" I only had one left over and Colin wanted to save it for Daddy. I was planning on making these look like cupcakes but it was late and I needed to draw the line somewhere, lol. These were a hit and something that I will definitely make again.

Isn't this the funniest photo ever?

Oh and did I mention that we are going on the big boat? The big, black, red and white one? With Mickey Mouse? We are in the midst of planning to go on our first cruise in a few months. We are beyond thrilled. Colin is just happy that he will have pancakes and can watch movies while in the pool. He keeps asking, "they are going to make me pancakes, right?" Going to Disney is one of the VERY few perks of having food allergies when the majority of the culinary world doesn't have policies in place that make you feel comfortable enough to eat there. We can't take Colin for an ice cream cone as a treat so we take him to the Caribbean. Makes sense right? Needless to say we have been spending a great deal of time explaining that not everyone gets to go on vacation and that we are very lucky and blessed to have that opportunity.

So in an effort to complete one project before starting another, I am working on finishing Disney LO's from the last two trips. I edited a bunch of photos and actually printed some too. I'm planning on using a D Ring album and just putting all Disney related pages in there. At least that's the plan anyway.

Speaking of planning, I have tons to do to finish Valentine's treats and Colin's shirt for his party. So that's it for now!

Amy email me your address so I can send this fun stuff out! Hopefully you got to see warmer weather this weekend too!

Did everyone enjoy their warmer weekend weather? I wanted to get out on Saturday to do a "photo shoot" with Colin. There is this old building that I pass everyday on my way home from work that I have been dying to take pictures in front of. Colin wasn't feeling well this weekend so we ended up lounging around Saturday and didn't get to enjoy the weather until Sunday. Oh well, at least I got to take a nap!

I have a few new LO's that I want to share but I gotta run so I can get to work. Hopefully I will get the rest posted tonight! Happy Monday everyone! Here's to lots of coffee!

Okay now to today's giveaway.

So leave a comment today telling me what you plan to do in the warmer weather this weekend or just say hi!

In the past year I have discovered the online addition/world of scrapbooking. Created a gallery of LO's, started submitting for publication and have entered contests. I have always felt like I've had my own personal cheering section. I feel that way because of all of the wonderful comments that folks have shared with me over the past year. I always know that when I need to dust myself off and try again, that I can count on support from my blogging friends. There is one blogger than has done that more than the rest and that is Veronica. So Veronica, could you email me your addy, I would love to send an extra special thank you too!

Okay girls, that's it for today! Get your posts in so I can announce a winner tomorrow!

And I was doing so well....

It's been 12 days since my last blog post. I wish I could say that I was extremely busy living life or scrapbooking it at least, but alas. I was not. In preparation for teaching an upcoming workshop to help patients with chronic medical conditions, I needed to be a patient in a series first. The idea is that by participating in this series that I will gain valuable insight into the patient experience. So I needed to pick a goal to work on. Anyone that knows me knows that I tend to do a lot and sometimes forget what day it is or to eat. What can I say?? I enjoy being busy, lol! So I chose organization as my goal and part of my action plan was to get more rest. So no late night scrapping or blogging for me. Needless to say, I feel better with the extra sleep but combine that with the bitchiness of not scrapbooking all week and they kind of cancel each other out. Go figure?

So I wanted to check in quickly tonight, share a LO and let folks know that you should check back soon for a celebration. I will be planning a giveaway week to celebrate blogging for a year. Yeah! I love my readers and appreciate everyone that stops by to check out my work or see what my family is up too. What better way to thank you than with free stuff? So I will be posting this week with details on how to win so I will chat with you then!
