If You Ever Wondered What I Would Take To A Deserted Island...

The answer is posted here.

Very excited to have been asked to participate in this...it really is a great community.

I can't believe it's been almost a week since I posted. Well yes I can...I have been running like a crazy person so come lights out I'm out like a light too!

Anyway it's 8:00AM and I am planning to scrap a little before little man wakes up and starts to bug me...I mean ask to play.

I'm totally kidding by the way...kind of :-)

I seriously need to clean this place up...I can hardly see my scrap stuff which doesn't really work for me.

Oh and I guess I should mention that I will need to make another one of these.

We just started planning our next trip to see the Mouse. Would anyone be interested in Disney planning posts that discuss how and why we make the planning decisions that we do? I know a lot of folks are super overwhelmed by the whole process but once you know a little information, set realistic expectations and plan well...the trip really is a piece of cake.

And of course there is paper and glue involved, it just makes everything better.

And for those of you that are new here...we go to Disney so frequently because my son has multiple food allergies and Disney is awesome at making my family feel like everyone else for a week. So we make it a priority above almost everything else so that we can have that experience.

And the Mouse makes me happy too :-)

A Recent Share...

Photobucket

I just added this to my gallery in the last few days and thought I would share it here too. The Past Due stamp is from Studio Calico, have I mentioned lately that they make my favorite stamps? Seriously, this LO came together really quickly...the ones I like the most always do for some reason. I have been keeping my eyes peeled for more of these brads that I used on this LO. I got them in the Target dollar spot over a year ago and never used them. I have no idea why I didn't because they are fab but who knows? Probably because I forgot that I had them. I really need to have a limited number of things on hand so I can remember everything that I have. I have been organizing and purging my space lately, definitely helps me remember what I have. I'm also thinking about moving some stuff upstairs. It's great to have a dedicated room but during the day it seems so far away. It would be nice to be able to create during an impromptu soccer game in the living room.

A girl's gotta multi task :-)

Especially considering the holidays are almost here and I just started thinking about the dress I will probably make for my husband's Christmas Party. Which is pretty impressive for me since I still have about a month to go. I thought about buying one but it is much for fun stressing Matt out that it won't be finished in time.

That's pretty good for me :-)

Busy Day...

I seriously think I did like 13 loads of laundry in the last two days.
I scrapped, sewed, played, cleaned, organized and stayed up for the Studio Calico Reveal. Can I say that this month is just stinkin awesome? Honestly I think I could sit and look at the gallery forever, seriously.

Anyway I have loads of pages to share and even more to photograph. So while you are waiting for the debut of my new purse....(which is almost complete), here is a LO that I completed recently during Spirit Week at Colin's preschool.

Photobucket

I think this is going down as one of my favorites! I just started pulling products that went together and used a lot of my favorite embellishments that I have been holding onto for awhile.

I'm also seriously obsessed with that border punch.

Okay that's it for now, I'm going to try to finish my purse and get to bed in an hour.

Do you think I can do it?

Me neither!

Ha!

New LO's to Share....

I have been busy this afternoon editing LO's to update my gallery. I guess I need to keep my mind off of my little man's first day of Pre K! Even though it's in the same building and there are a ton of teachers that know exactly what Colin can and cannot have....I still worry that there is a learning curve and tend to carry my phone with me everywhere I go. But considering we got this far into today without any phone calls I'm sure that I had no reason to worry, lol!

I wanted to share this LO that I finished up last night. For some reason I have been stuck lately in the mojo department and I have a feeling it has to do with the lack of edited photos to work with. I am setting a goal to at least edit one or two a day. Honestly I can do a ton more than that but for some reason my brain just sees how many photos that I have to work with and becomes overwhelmed. This is generally followed by mindless internet surfing.

Speaking of mindless internet surfing I finally joined Facebook. I have no idea what I am doing to please request to be my friend and give me some guidance, lol! I have no idea who is talking to who with all of those posts.

Oh right the LO....

Photobucket

This was fun to put together and I only used one sheet of Studio Calico paper and a few scraps to complete it! So not a major dent buster LO but fun nonetheless!

See I used one sheet so I most certainly need to replace it, right?

Paper Collecting...

I really try to avoid purchasing more pattern paper than I could ever possibly use. I only buy what I love and want to use every single piece of it. However, I'm beginning to become concerned that I couldn't ever use all of the lovely patterns that I have acquired no matter how much I scrapped. Will they be outdated when I get to them or will they be considered an "oldy but goody?"

The forecast is for a rainy weekend so I'm hoping to turn that into a scrap fest that may possibly make a dent in my ever growing stash.

I wonder if there is a midnight crop tomorrow?!

Since no post is really complete without a photo....

Photobucket

So when you need to make some space in your scraproom what do you do?

Do you purge and give to friends or create LO's with as much stuff on them as possible?

5 Product Challenge

I got a pretty cool email from Emily Pitts asking if I would participate in her 5 Product Challenge for the Studio Calico Blog.

Umm hello! Of course I will, Studio Calico is only like my new favorite obsession! I enjoyed this challenge even though it was a little out of my comfort zone and included paint! I was very good though and didn't spill any on my photos.

Be sure to head over to the blog to see a little bit about my process and how I made my little "gift boxes" on the bottom of my LO.

Photobucket

I'm not sure what me and the little man will be doing today. Hubby's at work so Colin and I will have most of the day to ourselves.

I wonder what kind of trouble we can get into before Dad gets home :-)

Take care and has always thanks for stopping by!

New LO and CKC Valley Forge....

So I have no idea what we have been wearing to work for the last couple of weeks since I'm pretty sure EVERY item of clothing that we own is currently in the laundry. What's that about????

I wanted to post that I will be volunteering at CKC Valley Forge again this year. I'm starting to get excited about going especially since it is only a few days away. I, of course, waited till the last minute to book a hotel room so I will not be staying at the convention center. This is probably a good thing since my room will ultimately be cheaper where I'm staying. I am hoping to attend both Friday and Saturday's crops if there are still seats available. I didn't sign up since I'm not a fan of spending nearly $30 for a few hours....but I am willing to use my volunteer vouchers to work on a project or two. So if you plan on attending this year and see me in one of your classes please feel free to say hi! Leave me a comment telling me your plans, if you made any and I'll be sure to keep an eye out for ya!

I LOVE this photo of Colin and one of his buddies from school. They crack me up since they both wanted to take their shirts off just because. They thought it was pretty funny and then all of the boys wanted to take their shirts off. I didn't realize that peer pressure started so quickly, lol! To make this LO I used a scalloped square punch that I won here, a few scraps of paper and a few buttons. This came together pretty quickly and I learned that you CAN write on the Studio Calico Rip Strips.

Speaking of Studio Calico...I absolutely LOVE this kit club. I don't subscribe but I have placed a small order each month for the last few months. I love that I can just order a few items from their shop and still get my Studio Calico fix. So the shop was updated at noon today and I logged on at 12:16PM and purchased the Storytime Alpha and Storytime Number Set. I can't wait for them to get here!

Well that's it for now....I'm trying to edit as many photos as I can so that I can bring a few projects this weekend to work on. I have a feeling that this week will go by pretty fast!

Photo with Lion...check!

Photobucket
I can't believe our luck, talk about being in the right place at the right time, lol! We spent the weekend at Penn State for their annual Blue and White game. The weather was wonderful and there was lots to do for little ones. Colin started to get a little hot so he went to the carnival outside the stadium for a bit with his grandmother and Dad. As I'm watching the game I see that the lion is making his way over to where we are sitting. I start wishing that it wasn't so hot and that Colin was still watching the game. Sure enough, Colin walks in with his snow cone and a renewed spirit. (No crabby pants from being too hot). So we run to the edge of our section and Colin starts yelling, "Hey Lion, Hey Lion!" We ask for a photo and hand our kid over the fence so this complete stranger can hold my son and I can get the photo of a lifetime. I cannot believe Colin is looking and smiling! It seriously makes me insanely giddy that I got this photo! Colin was very happy to meet the Lion but also made it very clear that it wasn't really the Lion because there was a kid inside. He said, "I saw him, I saw his shoes too!"

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzil. Pattern Paper: Studio Calico, October Afternoon. Rub Ons: Hambly. Letters: American Crafts, Making Memories. Buttons: Creative Cafe. Brads. American Crafts. Stamp: Scarlet Lime.
I took this photo when I was learning how to use my new camera. When I saw those little feet I knew I wanted to do this LO. This is the weirdest habit that Colin has. (Well one of them at least). When he has a tough time falling asleep he will ask me this. He doesn't actually mean it, he wants to put his feet on my back. Still weird, but not as bad. Not that I think I will ever forget that he does this, but I wanted to make the LO just in case I need additional stories for embarrassment when he is in high school.
